The Cat is the second most popular pet, after the dog. Having a cat as a pet is very easy. I have outlined some tips for you below:

When you buy a kitten, you need to ensure you are well equipped for them. It’s not just enough to have the kitten and assume that he will integrate perfectly into the family; he needs his own toys, food, bed, etc.

We advise that you begin by choosing an appropriate bed. Remember to think about where he will sleep and how much space you have for his bed. You can purchase a range of cat beds in store, including those that can be hung from a ceiling/wall to “kennel” beds where the kitten can climb in for safety. Everything in your home will look massive to your kitten so he needs a place he can hide when he feels vulnerable or insecure.

Then you need to think about toys. Kittens are very active and can get bored very easily. If you don’t want to turn your sofa into scratch central, we recommend a cat scratch post. These are made in varying heights and designs. Ancol have a particularly lovely range, all available in store.

We also stock a range of Balls, Kitten Mittens, Mice (with or without catnip) and Cat Dancers. All of these will keep kitty amused for hours.

Finally you need to think about diet. We suggest you start as you mean to go on by feeding you kitten a complete diet such as James Wellbeloved or Burns.

Some people like to feed a wet meat. This is an option for consideration; therefore we do stock Whiskas, Felix and Vital’s own Kitten Foods.

Please remember that Kitty is constantly growing and only has a tiny tummy so be sure not to over feed or you could induce health issues. Even though he may look like a fully grown Cat, Kitty is still just a baby, so you have to be careful

It is also important to note that Kitty is lactose intolerant (can’t digest milk) so you must provide specially formulated Cat Milk for him.

Please also leave plenty of fresh drinking water. We sell a lovely range of bowls which include the “duo dish” for food and water.
